Dungeon Siege II

The pet information here refer on Dungeon Siege II v2.1 and v2.2.

As basic knowledge Handbook Lession 42 should be sufficent generally.

While more valuable items accelerate the feeding, the numerical dominance of one item type is deciding
for the type of bonus (offensive, defensive, misc) and for its alignment aswell (melee, ranged, magic).

Rings, amulets oder reagents will produce a 'misc' bonus (without any consequences e.g. for resitances).

Instead of mage weapons it's also possible to feed spellbooks, spells and even figther staves (bug!?).

All the folowing pets here have level 46 just as the char owning these pets.

On the left side below the pet image there are the stats at aqusition followed by three mature pet stats,
the first pet got only potions, the second pet-specific armors and the third pet stats is with weapons.

Bonus≥ means the guaranteed bonus a pet basically gets for a growing stage indifferently how feeded.

Bug?/Feature?: Some melee pets may profit more when feeding weapons during certain growing stages:
¤ Packmule & Scorpion: during stage 2
¤ Dire Wolf: during stage 4
¤ Mythrilhorn during stage 1 & 3

Otherwise - if feeded with armors - they won't get the +10% armor bonus normally guaranteed at that stage.

Note about the Mythrilhorn: Accoding to the displayed stats its damage would be independent on strength,
however this is probably only a bug in the stat table ignoring the special attack calculations for this pet.

Note about magical damage that is 'half as high': For example the Lap Dragon seems to loose 50% of its damage
at pet stage 3, but this is no real bug, it's just the the attack type of the spell that is changing - instead of
a single target now a hole area will be affected. The similar things you may note with other magical pets,
so e.g. for the Fire Elemental the damage type is area-affecting right from the beginning.

Bug: When a pet dies you can resurrect it of course, however they have values then like at baby stage.
You get the right pet values by sending them temporarly to the inn or then restarting another game session.
